History

TechWriter Placements & Services (TechWriter) was founded in 1992 by a Technical Writer, Michael Cumberworth.

Michael understood that to create effective documents you need a skilled specialist. He discovered that few employers could identify the skills they required of a specialist and even fewer knew where to find them. TechWriter was designed to find the specialists for them.

The business has developed

Since 1992, the type of roles we handle have grown from 'pure' technical writing roles to encompass a broad range of documentation and training specialists.

 

Our team has grown

TechWriter includes second-generation owners, Matthew and Julie Cumberworth, along with new owners Elizabeth and John Abbott. Together, we now fill over 300 contract and permanent roles a year. (For more information about us read Our Team.)

Despite all the changes, we still recognise people as the cornerstone of our business, and strive to provide both clients and candidates with a personalised, value-add service.
